Rep. Gottheimer To Announce New Gateway Project Bill

The first-term Democrat will announce Friday a bill that will get the $20 billion project back on track.

ORADELL, NJ — Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) will announce legislation Friday to help move along the $20 billion Gateway project.

The project encompasses the expansion and renovation of the northeast corridor rail line between Newark and New York City. The project was scheduled to be completed in 2026.

"It's long past time we got going and fixed the crumbling tunnels under the Hudson River," Gottheimer said.

Gottheimer, a first-term Democrat from Wyckoff, will make the announcement at the Oradell train station on Maple Avenue at 11:15 a.m.
