River Edge Residents Vote 'Yes' To Ballot Question

Residents say 'yes' to local ballot question.

RIVER EDGE, NJ — Residents approved establishing a trust fund Tuesday to develop and preserve lands for recreation and conservation.

The municipal ballot question passed 1,213 to 1,004.

Incumbent Democratic councilmen Thomas Papleo and Dario Chinigo defeated Republican challenger Ann Marie Rudis. Papleo received 1,708 votes while Chinigo received 1,694. Rudis received 1,085 votes.

Results are unofficial until certified by the Bergen County Clerk and do not include absentee ballots.
