River Edge Volunteer Ambulance Service Inducts New Leaders
And Bestows Service Awards At Installation Dinner
River Edge- Donna Sanders was installed as President of the Ambulance Service Saturday night, January 13th, 2017 at the 67th anniversary dinner dance held at the Brownstone.
Also installed were Catherine O’Donnell, Vice- President; Carol Miller, Treasurer; Joan Daly, Secretary; James Levis, Captain; Justin Kearns, 1st Lieutenant; Alyssa Schmidt, 2nd Lieutenant; and Gregory Leon, Sergeant.
Active Service Awards and pins issued by the EMS Council of New Jersey were presented to Carol Fink for 30 years of service, and Joan Daly for 10 years of service. Eric Schultz was recognized for his 15 years of service as a driver.
Joan Daly, Jim Levis , Al Ruhlmann, Bobby Alexiou and police officers Michael McGinty and Dennis Griffith were awarded with a CPR Save pin.
The following Members, who responded to more than 100 Ambulance Calls during the year, were recognized: Jim Levis, 142 calls; Carol Miller,120 calls; Carol Fink, 118 calls; Joan Daly, 113 calls; and Cathy O’Donnell, 100 calls.
New Board of Governor members, Carol Fink and Joseph Zemaites were sworn in by Mayor Edward Mignone.
Donna Sanders was thanked for her exemplary past 4 years as Captain, and Joseph Zemaites for 4 years of outstanding service as the Corps President. During 2016, REVAS members answered 654 calls.
