St. Peter's Senior Residence Seeks Volunteers for Saturday
The non-profit Build with Purpose is hosting a Volunteer Day on Saturday in preparation of getting the upcoming senior residence facility ready for occupants

With a June deadline to welcome 25 senior citizens through the doors, Build with Purpose is hosting a Paint Party Volunteer Day on Saturday 10am to 3pm at its upcoming Senior Residence facility at the formerSt. Peter the Apostle convent.
The effort will have volunteers split between painting the walls or helping remove carpets throughout the building. A similar project was held in late 2012 and drew 40 volunteers into the former convent.
The Senior Residence is located at 415 Fifth Avenue, River Edge and is meant to house 25 senior citizens. The facility was intentionally scheduled to open in April but was pushed back to June.

Each senior citizen would have their own one-bedroom unit with private bathroom and have shared community space, dining room and living room.Â
Independent seniors will be provided with much of the same care and services offered in a traditional assisted living facility including three meals a day, housekeeping, transportation, recreation, private rooms and 24-hour on-site staff.Â

Personal care assistance for residents who may need help with daily routines such as dressing, bathing and grooming, cleaning, and other tasks will also be offered.
According to Build with Purpose, the monthly costs at St. Peter’s Residence will start at $1,900, a fraction of the state average of $4,286 for assisted living facilities.
Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Tiffany Pryce at tpryce@bwpurpose.org or 732-635-1000 ex. 111 prior to Saturday. Participants can come and go as their schedule permits but are asked to wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty. Volunteers are asked to bring paintbrushes, paint pans, rollers, and ladders, if possible.Â
