Thomas Tantillo, Of River Edge, Mazzone's Pizza Owner, Dies At 69
Tantillo was known as 'Chief.' He was 'loved by all,' his obituary said.
RIVER EDGE, NJ — Thomas Tantillo, the owner of Mazzone's Pizza and who was affectionately known as "chief," died Saturday.
Tantillo was 69 and lived in River Edge. He owned and ran Mazzone's Pizza in his hometown for 47 years, his family said in his obituary.
"Loved by all, Chief had lifelong friendships and was a father figure to many," the obituary stated. "His humor and compassion filled the hearts of all that knew him."

Tantillo was a musician and a keyboardist in many bands, his obituary stated.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary, sons Nicholas and Thomas, and his wife, Megan.

Visitation with the family is Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell.
A funeral service is Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Parish Church, 445 Fifth Ave., River Edge.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Tantillo's name be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America online.
