2 More Scotch Plains Gas Stations Robbed In June
Three township gas stations have been robbed or burglarized since the beginning of June, according to Scotch Plains Police.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Two more gas stations were hit by criminals in Scotch Plains recently making a total of three for the month of June so far.
On June 9, the management at the Power Gas station at 2650 Route 22 reported a robbery.
Two men on a motorcycle asked for gas and when the attendant got near them one of the men reached into the attendant's money apron and took money out of it, said police.

A struggle began and the men drove away on Route 22 east. The attendant was not injured, said police.
On June 8, the management at the Exxon Gas station at 1800 Route 22 reported a burglary. The front glass door was smashed and items were removed from the business, said police.

On June 7: A resident on Country Club Lane reported someone fraudulently applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
On June 8: A resident on Parkwood Drive reported the theft of a 2020 Silver Acura MDX. The vehicle was parked and unlocked in the driveway and was stolen at about 3:30 a.m. The vehicle was entered as stolen and was found by the Newark Police Department later that afternoon.
On June 8: A resident on Sims Avenue reported that someone fraudulently applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
On June 9: A resident on Bryant Ave. reported someone fraudulently applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
On June 10: Richard E. Motley, 54, of South Plainfield was arrested for driving under the influence
during a motor vehicle accident investigation conducted by Officer Stephanie Roggina. Motley was taken to headquarters and processed.
On June 14: A resident on Algonquin Drive reported someone fraudulently applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
