43-Pound Pumpkin Grown By Scotch Plains Family
The Fiore family has been planting pumpkin seeds in an open space next to their home for the past three years.
The Fiore family of Newark Avenue in Scotch Plains has been planting pumpkin seeds in an open space next to their home for the past three years and this year grew a massive 43-pounder.Â
"This year we planted pumpkin seeds and came up with 22 pumpkins," Anthony Fiore wrote Patch. "We had 24 two years ago but none last year - the vines were strangled." Â
Fiore said it was during their pumpkin harvest party with friends and neighbors that they spotted the biggest of the bunch hidden under a bush. When a neighbor weighed it, the pumpkin came in at a whopping 43 pounds.
