Bear Spotted In Scotch Plains

Fanwood, NJ -- It looks as though the black bear spotted in Watchung has made its way to Scotch Plains.

Fanwood Police sent out an alert around 12:15 p.m. Thursday, June 9 warning residents that the bear had been seen in the area of Willow Avenue and Farley Avenue in Scotch Plains.  

"Residents are urged to not approach the bear, but to call 911 if they have spotted the bear," Fanwood Police reported. "Please keep children and pets indoors, and be aware of your surroundings."

A bear had also been spotted around 9:45 a.m. in Watchung near Route 22.
