Black Bear Caught On Video In Union County Sunday Night

The bear was estimated to be 5 feet tall at the shoulders and about 300 pounds, according Robert Ross of Mountainside.

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ — A black bear was spotted Sunday night making his way through a neighbor's yard in Mountainside.

Robert Ross said he saw the black bear in his yard at 9:25 p.m. on Sunday off Route 22 West, across from Lawrence Avenue, in Mountainside.

"I would estimate him 5 feet tall at the shoulders. He wandered around the back of the garage. Went behind the patio furniture then sniffed the hummingbird feeder and both hanging feeders. There was nothing to eat but some stale bread. After about 10 minutes he wandered out towards the street. He was all of 300 pounds," said Ross.
