Burglar Wearing Ski Mask, Scared Away By Scotch Plains Local: PD
The Scotwood Diner also reported someone stole cooking oil from the back of the building, according to the Scotch Plains Police Blotter.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A person wearing a ski mask, caught breaking into a township car, was scared away by a Scotch Plains resident on Sunday morning, police said.
At 7:20 a.m. a 2200 block of Elizabeth Avenue homeowner said she saw a black BMW X5 pull in front of her house.
The resident said she saw a person wearing a ski mask enter her vehicle which was unlocked and parked in her driveway, according to Scotch Plains Police.

The resident yelled out her door and the person fled the area in a vehicle that had fake license plates on it which came back to a stolen BMW X3, said police.
Detectives went out to the home and processed the scene. This remains under investigation.

On May 24: A resident on Odonnell Avenue reported someone fraudulently opened several bank accounts in their name.
