Champs! Boys Soccer Defends Union County Title

Raiders beat Elizabeth for third straight county championship.

The Raiders have done it again: The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School boys soccer team captured its third straight Union County Tournament championship on Sunday with a 4-2 win over Elizabeth at Kean.

According to a Star-Ledger report, the team scored two first-half goals from Brian Rubin and Mike Walsh and followed them with two more from James Murphy and Christian Zazzali.

"It feels amazing to win," Murphy told the Star-Ledger. We're going to enjoy this victory. Every win feels great but this one, this was something special."

The SPFHS girls soccer team also defended their title in the UCT championship this year.
