Cooling Center Opens In Fanwood Amid Heat Wave

The cooling center will be set up at the Fanwood Carriage House and be open daily from Monday through Friday.

FANWOOD, NJ — Fanwood Police have sent up a cooling center in light of the ongoing heat wave.

The cooling center will be set up at the Fanwood Carriage House, also known as the Patricia Kuran Cultural Arts Center, from Monday through Friday. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Locals can get to the Carriage House from the path leading from the front of Borough Hall or from Watson Road across from Carriage House Park. Residents who need transportation may call the police non-emergency number, 908-322-5000.

"We urge citizens to use the cooling center if necessary and check on elderly neighbors," said Fanwood Police.

Those visiting the cooling center are advised to bring any prescriptions they may need during the day.
