Darby Road Pub Closes, Staff Tests Positive For Coronavirus
The popular Scotch Plains bar and restaurant, Darby Road, is temporarily closing after members of their staff tested positive for COVID-19.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — The popular Scotch Plains bar and restaurant, Darby Road, is temporarily closing after members of their staff tested positive for the coronavirus.
"Unfortunately, events have transpired that are out of our control and members of our staff have been tested positive for COVID-19. In the spirit of transparency, it is our moral obligation to notify the public and ensure that we are taking every measure to keep the members of our community safe," Darby Road shared on Friday.
The restaurant at 450 Park Ave. is temporarily closing as of Friday and working with health department officials to determine a date to safely reopen.

"Over the past 8 years, it has been our honor and privilege to provide a safe and healthy space for our patrons in our community. Our priority has been and always will be fostering our values of sanitation through our rigorous staff training on following the CDC regulations to prevent the spread of COVID-19," the restaurant wrote.
As of Thursday, Scotch Plains is reporting a total of 368 positive cases with 1888 recovered and 15 deaths.

As of Friday, there are 22 new positive cases in Union County bringing the total to 17,565 and 1,189 total deaths.
