Darby Road Reopens After Staff Member Tests Positive For COVID-19

All staff members have been tested, the Scotch Plains restaurant was cleaned, and new UV light air purification systems were installed.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Darby Road Pub is reopening on Thursday after a staff member tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday.

The popular Scotch Plains restaurant, at 450 Park Ave., will only be opening for take-out, delivery and outdoor dining for the time being. Indoor dining will resume at a later time.

Working with the Rahway Regional Health Services, the restaurant released a video on Wednesday showing steps that were taken to ensure a safe environment at the pub.

All staff members have been tested and those who have been cleared will be allowed to return to work to serve patrons.

The entire restaurant was also cleaned from top to bottom by Galaxy power washing and new UV light air purification systems were also installed.

"Thank you again for your support. Be well, SlĂ inte," the restaurant shared on its Facebook page.


As of Monday, Scotch Plains is reporting a total of 374 positive coronavirus cases with 188 recovered and 15 deaths.
