Egg Company Adopts, Cleans Fanwood Highway

CMC Food/The Farmers Hen collected 2 bags of garbage, 1 bag of recycling, and also found the front bumper of a car.

FANWOOD, NJ — CMC Food/The Farmers Hen with offices in Fanwood, Elizabeth and Clark, adopted a highway in Fanwood.

The egg company adopted South Avenue, from Martine Avenue to New York Avenue and are required to clean the highway at least four times a year. The company chose this roadway since their main and original office is at 282 South Avenue.

The Adopt a Highway program supplied them with gloves, grabbers, garbage bags, vests, signs and anything else they used.

All employees had to have online training before they could go out and clean.

"After just an hour of cleaning the street we collected two bags of garbage and one bag of recycling. We also found the front bumper of a car!" said Tracey Hinkle with the company.
