Explore the Skies at the Scotch Plains Public Library

Join Bob Reichman on Monday, July 25 at 3pm and Monday, August 8 at 8:30 pm to explore our daytime and night skies.

The Scotch Plains Public Library invites all community members to explore the skies with astronomer Bob Reichman. On Monday, July 25 at 3 pm, Reichman will help you take a close (and safe) look at the sun with a hydrogen-alpha solar telescope. He will return on Monday, August 8 at 8:30 pm to share views of the first quarter moon, Mars, Saturn, and many constellations. Take a turn at the telescope outside following Reichman’s indoor library program. Reichman is an active member of the NJ Astronomical Association and a Qualified Observer at the Paul Robinson Observatory in High Bridge. No registration is required for these events. The raindate for the Magnetic Sun-Solar Telescope program will be Thursday, July 28 at 3 pm and the raindate for the Night Sky program will be Wednesday, August 10 at 7:30 pm.

The library’s children, teen, and adult summer reading calendars are available on the Scotch Plains Public Library website (www.scotlib.org). Check them out, share with your friends, and sign up today!

If you have any questions, please call (908) 322-5007 x 204 or e-mail library@scotlib.org.
