Fanwood Locals Must Remove Vehicles From Snow-Covered Roads

All vehicles must be removed from roadways. Any vehicles left may be ticketed or towed.

FANWOOD, NJ — With a snowy nor'easter on track to hit New Jersey on Thursday, Fanwood Police are reminding residents to vehicles from snow-covered roadways as per borough ordinance.

Residents are asked to remove all vehicles from the roadways to assist the Department of Public Works in keeping the roads clear and to ensure the safe passage of emergency vehicles.

Any vehicle found not moved 48 hours after the snowfall will be considered abandoned and may be ticketed. Any vehicle found to be impeding the flow of traffic will be towed.

Residents should also ensure that they do not shovel or snow blow their snow back into the roadway after it has been plowed as this creates a hazardous condition.

Borough Code 259-22 states that residents shall remove all snow and ice from any sidewalk in front of their property within 12 hours of daylight after the snow has fallen or formed.

Locals are also asked to check on elderly neighbors or those with special needs that may require assistance during the storm.
