Fresh Mart Opens, Replaces QuickChek in Scotch Plains

Free hot and iced coffee is being given away all day Thursday in celebration of the grand opening at the Westfield Avenue location.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Fresh Mart is hosting a ribbon-cutting and grand opening Thursday at the former QuickChek location.

Scotch Plains Mayor Josh Losardo will be at the store at 1928 Westfield Ave. at 4:30 p.m. for the ribbon-cutting.

New owner, Alpesh Patel, who owns a Fresh Mart store in Watchung, is celebrating the grand opening by offering free hot and iced coffee all day and also has raffles and other giveaways.

Patel said Fresh Mart will stand apart from the former QuickChek by offering Boars Head deli meat and fresh sandwiches. He also has a grill to serve up fresh food.

The store will also have a larger inventory and fresh coffee.

The convenience store will remain open until 10 p.m. on Thursday.
