Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at Congregation Beth Israel
Synagogue to Host Annual Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Service
Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains will host the annual Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Monday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. The service is sponsored by the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Ministerial Association, which is comprised of local faith leaders, town mayors, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood School Superintendent and the heads of several non-profit organizations. The houses of worship in Scotch Plains-Fanwood take turns hosting the program, which is held on the Monday preceding Thanksgiving. The service is free and open to the community.
“We are thrilled to host the service this year. This is a wonderful opportunity for all of our faith communities to gather as one and give thanks for all that unites us,” said Matt Axelrod, Cantor of Congregation Beth Israel. During the service, Cantor Axelrod will conduct the Interfaith Community Choir, comprised of members of many different churches and synagogues throughout Scotch Plains and Fanwood.
Congregation Beth Israel is located at 18 Shalom Way, Scotch Plains, NJ (corner of Martine Avenue). For more information, call the synagogue office at (908) 889-1830.
