Learn about Gourmet Salt at the Scotch Plains Public Library

On Mon, July 9 at 7 pm, Marty Silverman will share some interesting varieties of salt & how they can make our meals more delicious.

Everything tastes better with salt but we all know that having too much in our diet can send our blood pressure soaring. How do we accentuate flavor in the foods we eat while still being healthy? The Savory Spice Shop in Westfield carries over 15 types of salt, from everyday Kosher to the finest French Fleur de Sel. On Monday, July 9 at 7 pm at the Scotch Plains Library, store manager Marty Silverman will share some of the most interesting varieties and discuss ways that the common mineral can make our meals more delicious and keep our bodies running. Taste tests of specialty salts included.

Pre-registration is required and will open on June 1, 2018.

For more information or to register, go to www.scotlib.org, email library@scotlib.org, call (908) 322-5007 x 204 or stop by the Reference Desk. The Scotch Plains Library is located at 1927 Bartle Avenue, one block from Park Avenue in the center of town.
