Popular Little Sprouts Preschool Camp returns to the YMCA

Great summers start at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA, and this year, the Y is bringing back its popular half-day Little Sprouts Preschool Camp for kids ages 3-5. After a hiatus last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the camp is back and better than ever!

Little Sprouts is the perfect opportunity for preschool-aged children to experience camp for the first time. Held Monday through Friday from 9am-1pm, the camp includes: fun activities such as science, music, arts and crafts and story time that educate and entertain; outdoor time, games and water play to keep bodies active, and different themed weeks that will allow kids to explore new hobbies and interests. Plus, campers will develop new friendships and build self-esteem and self-confidence in the warm, welcoming and inclusive environment that the YMCA fosters.

“We are excited to bring back Little Sprouts this summer and to offer preschool-aged children – some who may have been home this past year – a way to socialize and engage with their peers while learning about the world around them,” said Kathy Barros, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA’s Senior Director of Child Care Services. “Our fun, themed weeks include ‘Pirates and Mermaids,’ ‘Let’s Go to the Zoo,’ ‘Space is the Place,’ ‘It’s a Bug’s Life,’ and more. Plus, the camp is run by two of our dedicated Child Care team members who work with our students throughout the year.”

At the Y, the health and safety of our campers and staff is our top priority. The Little Sprouts Preschool Camp follows the latest guidance from the CDC and state Health Department.

The camp runs weekly from June 28-August 27, 2021. Families can register for one, two or all nine weeks of camp!
