Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP today announced that five New Jersey attorneys, Timothy Duffy, Heidi Minuskin, Mark Silver, Joseph Amoroso and Jonathan Donath, will join the Firm’s growing roster of high-profile attorneys as partners. The five bring with them associates Michael Seeburger and Ryan Gallagher and several paralegals and support staff, bolstering Schenck Price’s existing commercial litigation practice and expanding its client services profile. These additions cap a remarkable year for the 109-year-old, 80+ attorney firm, and follows the recent elevation of five attorneys to equity partner status.

The Firm’s success this past year distinguishes Schenck Price from other top regional law firms, said Managing Partner Gary Werner.

“Our attorneys’ efforts on behalf of clients never faltered, even as the pandemic forced us to create and refine methods and systems to serve their needs,” said Werner. “The Firm’s depth of talent coupled with the dedication of its attorneys is why our clients continue to rely on us during these challenging times,” he said.

In line with the Firm’s commitment to deliver exceptional service, sophisticated advice, and creative, practical solutions in both litigation and transactional matters, the addition of these attorneys continues Schenck Price’s long tradition of measured growth.

“We are excited to welcome Tim Duffy and his team to Schenck Price,” Werner said. “These are thoughtful, tough attorneys who have the top-tier skills, knowledge and experience that deliver results. Tim brings valuable experience and leadership skills to the Firm, and Heidi will co-chair our environmental practice group.”

The new attorneys joining the Firm will expand its commercial litigation and environmental groups and add depth to a host of practice areas, including pharmaceutical, toxic torts, products liability, employment, and contract disputes, among others. The group of seven were formerly with Coughlin Duffy LLP.

  • Timothy Duffy has extensive trial and appellate experience in complex, multi-party litigation in state and federal courts in New Jersey and throughout the country, including class actions and mass tort litigation in a variety of areas. His practice concentrates on a broad range of claims including product liability, multi-party toxic tort litigation, pharmaceutical litigation, land use disputes, environmental and regulatory litigation, labor and employment litigation, and contract disputes.
  • Heidi Minuskin’s practice focuses on environmental law and commercial and real estate transactions. Her work includes Superfund Brownfields Redevelopment, ISRA, due diligence, disclosure obligations, environmental insurance matters, site remediation, and regulatory compliance and permitting issues. She represents a broad range of clients, from Fortune 100 companies to individuals, in environmental litigation, penalty and enforcement matters, and cost recovery actions.
  • Mark Silver’s practice spans a wide variety of legal concentrations. He regularly handles matters involving commercial disputes, product liability and pharmaceutical litigation, employment litigation, securities litigation, and white collar criminal matters. He has defended several major pharmaceutical manufacturers in a variety of complex lawsuits including mass tort claims and class actions in multi-district federal litigation.
  • Joseph Amoroso concentrates his practice in the areas of product liability, insurance defense, employment litigation, environmental law, appellate practice, and business litigation. He has represented businesses of all sizes, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies, in single plaintiff lawsuits and large class action and multidistrict lawsuits.
  • Jonathan Donath focuses his practice on commercial litigation, professional liability, pharmaceutical product liability defense, employment litigation, environmental litigation, advising clients on environmental issues, and business counseling. He has represented clients ranging from international institutional entities to local businesses.
  • Michael Seeburger is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on commercial litigation, corporate transactions, and business formation. He has defended against environmental claims, managed employment disputes and overseen wills and trusts formations.
  • Ryan Gallagher’s practice focuses on commercial litigation. He interned for the Assistant Attorney General of Rhode Island, clerked at an insurance defense firm, and represented clients as part of the Roger Williams Criminal Defense Clinic.

The departure of the group from Coughlin Duffy also underscores the evolution of that firm, which over time has sharpened its focus on other practice areas, said Tim Duffy, his former firm’s co-founder.

“Coughlin Duffy has a strong commitment to serving its insurance clients in a full range of insurance services work and has become one of the leaders nationally in this practice area. It is committed to growing and expanding the firm in this specialized practice,” said Duffy. “Our commercial litigation and transactions group’s search for an opportunity for similar growth led us to Schenck Price.”

“The attorneys at Schenck Price provide a dynamic platform of support for our team of talented and dedicated attorneys,” Duffy said. “Our clients will benefit from the breadth of Schenck Price’s legal offerings and the depth of experience of its attorneys. We’re excited to be part of such a storied law firm.”

Schenck Price’s strong year also enabled the Firm to elevate five attorneys to equity partner status. “Our firm’s continued momentum is underscored by these new additions,” said Werner.

“The depth of knowledge and commitment that Tim, Heidi, Mark, Joe, Jonathan, Michael and Ryan bring to Schenck Price enables us to continue to confidently provide our clients with quality services in a broad array of practice areas,” he said.
