Scotch Plains Cancels Halloween Trunk Or Treat Due To Coronavirus

The annual Trunk Or Treat Halloween event held in Downtown Scotch Plains is canceled. But there's still hope for trick-or-treating.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains Mayor Al Smith said the township has canceled the 6th annual Trunk Or Treat Halloween event normally held in Downtown Scotch Plains in October. But there's still hope for trick-or-treating.

"The town will not hold Trunk or Treat this year. I will be talking to some residents about their ideas for private trick-or-treating," Smith told Patch.

The Scotch Plains Parks and Recreation has hosted the trunk or treat every year at the Village Green since 2015.
