SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — The number of Scotch Plains-Fanwood residents who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 continues to rise in the township.
The New Jersey Department of Health released town-level data on COVID-19 vaccinations. The state's COVID-19 dashboard now reveals the percentage of all people, adults and seniors who have been partially or fully vaccinated in each city and town.
Here's the data in Scotch Plains Township and Fanwood Borough as of Friday, June 11:

- Scotch Plains population with at least one dose: 66 percent of all ages, 82 percent of adults (18 and older) and 89 percent of seniors (65 and older).
- Scotch Plains population fully vaccinated: 58 percent of all ages, 74 percent of adults and 84 percent of seniors.
- Fanwood population with at least one dose: 68 percent of all ages, 86 percent of adults (18 and older) and 89 percent of seniors (65 and older).
- Fanwood population fully vaccinated: 60 percent of all ages, 78 percent of adults and 84 percent of seniors.
Scotch Plains and Fanwood are slowly making progress.
In Scotch Plains: Comparing the numbers from June 4, the percentage of fully vaccinated people of all ages increased by 3 percent and the percentage of all ages with at least one dose increased 1 percent.

In Fanwood: Comparing the numbers from June 4, the percentage of fully vaccinated people of all ages increased by 3 percent and the percentage of all ages with at least one dose increased 1 percent.
Across Union County, there have been 545,688 doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered as of June 4, according to the state Department of Health. There were 307,565 county residents who have received at least one dose of the vaccines, the state's COVID-19 database says, and 258,054 who were fully vaccinated as of that date.
New Jersey set a goal to fully vaccinate 70 percent of adults — 4.7 million people — by the end of June. Just over 4.369 million people in New Jersey have been fully vaccinated as of Friday afternoon.
