Scotch Plains, Fanwood Election Results Continue To Trickle In

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — As ballots continue to be counted in Union County, here are the latest election results for Scotch Plains and Fanwood's town and school board races.

As of Tuesday night, the Union County Board of Elections has counted 173,119 vote-by-mail ballots out of the 372,854 ballots sent out countywide.

In Scotch Plains, there is a contested Mayoral race with Republican incumbent Alexander M. Smith running against Democrat Joshua G. Losardo.

Here are the latest unofficial results as of Tuesday night:

  • Joshua G. Losardo: 6,772
  • Alexander M. Smith: 6,030

There is also a contested race for the 1st Ward Council Member seat with Democrat Ellen Zimmerman running against Republican incumbent Theodore J. Spera.

  • Theodore J. Spera: 5,567
  • Ellen Zimmerman: 7,137

In Fanwood, there is an uncontested race on the municipal level with two Democrats running unopposed for three, four-year councilman-at-large seats.

  • Jeffrey Banks: 2,881
  • Anthony Carter: 2,880

Scotch Plains-Fanwood Regional School Board has five candidates vying for three seats in the upcoming election.

Amy Boroff and Margaret Maggie Savoca are running for the one, three-year seat to represent Fanwood on the board.

  • Amy Boroff: 2,158
  • Margaret Maggie Savoca: 1,226

Dr. David Levine, Evan Murray, and Karen Mitchell are running for the two, three-year seats to represent Scotch Plains on the board.

  • Dr. David Levine: 5,653
  • Karen Mitchell: 6,940
  • Evan Murray: 6,419

Votes will continue to be counted daily and updated periodically on the county's election board website. However, official results are not expected until Nov. 20.
