Scotch Plains Library's Adult Summer Reading Program
Registration begins June 1 and programs start June 2!

Scotch Plains and Fanwood residents over the age of 17 are invited to participate in Scotch Plains Public Library’s expanded adult summer reading program. Residents of Scotch Plains and Fanwood can sign up to track their hours, write reviews and collect point online at scotlib.readsquar3ed.com and in-person at the library. Spin the prize wheel at the library and win a small registration memento. Earn points when you read a book, audiobook, or ebook, submit a book review, attend a program, or complete a Bingo card. Use your points to earn raffle tickets to win a gift basket at summer’s end.
While several of the Adult programs require registration with priority given to Scotch Plains and Fanwood residents, other events are open to the public at large, including families. Check our web site events calendar for details: scotlib.org.
Launch your library participation this summer on Thursday, June 27 at 7pm by attending a sneak preview of Chasing the Moon, an upcoming PBS American Experience documentary that explores the 10-year Space Race Odyssey. A discussion will follow the screening of a preview clip. The full six-hour film event will air on PBS July 8 – 10. Registration is encouraged, and is open to residents and non-residents.

Highlights of the season will include Hamiltunes: An American Singalong. On July 8 at 7 pm, fans of Hamilton: An American Musical are invited to sing along to the music from the show at this officially licensed fan-based performance. Costumes are encouraged. Registration is required and is open to residents and non-residents. There is no age restriction, but please be aware that we will be singing along to the original cast recording, containing some “strong” language. Parental discretion is advised.
Crafty Mondays and Foodie Fridays offered by the Adult Department invite registration by Scotch Plains and Fanwood students entering grades 8 and above, when accompanied by a resident adult.
