Unlocked SUV With Keys Left Inside Stolen From Scotch Plains
Scotch Plains also reported 5 incidents of fraud last week in the township
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains Police reported an SUV was stolen from the township last week.
On June 15, a resident on Lenape Way reported the theft of a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. The SUV was unlocked in the driveway with the keys inside the vehicle, said police.

On June 15: A resident on Tussell Lane reported someone fraudulently applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
On June 15: Cyndi Y. Bernard, 60, of Plainfield was arrested for receiving stolen property and active warrants out of Union. Also arrested was William B. Oneal, 53, of Irvington charged
with possession of drug paraphernalia. Patrolman Zack Vonlangen found a 1995 Honda Accord which was reported stolen out of Middlesex Boro being operated by Bernard. He conducted a motor vehicle stop and both parties were arrested without incident. Both were transported to headquarters and processed.

On June 16: Desmond R. Middlebrooks Jr., 25, of Irvington was arrested on an active warrant out of
Irvington during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Zack Vonnlangen. Middlebrooks was taken to headquarters and processed.
On June 18: A resident on Waverly Place reported damage to their vehicle.
On June 18: A resident on Eatham Court reported someone fraudulently applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
On June 19: Frackinde Germain, 28, of East Orange was arrested on an active warrant out of
the Essex County Sheriff’s Department during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Matt Lavery. Germain was taken to headquarters and processed.
On June 20: A resident on Spruce Mill Lane reported someone fraudulently applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
On June 21: A resident on Dona Lane reported someone fraudulently applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
On June 21: A resident on Church Street reported someone fraudulently applied for unemployment benefits in their name.
