Bembé Latin Bistro And Lounge​ Is Spicing Up Secaucus

Tommy Stabile of Bembé Latin Bistro and Lounge tells Patch more about the recently opened restaurant and gives some updates on his exciting new endeavors:

Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?

Stabile: I have done business in Secaucus, New Jersey, for 20 years. Bembé has only been in the community since May 2019.

Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you're in?

Stabile: I used to visit restaurants at a minimum of four days a week for 35 years. I was always attracted to restaurant and nightlife businesses. I got started with my good friend Vincent Ponte when he asked if I wanted to get involved in the restaurant business.

Patch: If you had to sum up your business mission in five words, what would it be?

Stabile: To see our customers happy.

Patch: What is the biggest challenge or more difficult moment in your job?

Stabile: When our customers aren't satisfied to the fullest.

Patch: What's the most satisfying part of your job?

Stabile: When I see customers happy, enjoying themselves, and knowing they will be returning to the business.

Patch: How would you say your business distinguished itself from others?

Stabile: We are all perfectionists. We demand quality out of our staff. Our employees are dedicated and have the same vision of ownership.

Patch: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given when it comes to success?

Stabile: Vincent Ponte once told me, "Never get into the restaurant business." But actually, the best advice I did receive was, "You get out of a business what you put in."

Patch: Are there any new projects or endeavors you’re working on that you’re extra excited about?

Stabile: We are currently planning to open an old-world Italian restaurant in a "speakeasy" setting. It's exciting because it brings back memories of how things used to be.

Patch: Do you have any events coming up in the community?

Stabile: We get involved in all community projects that we are asked to be in.
