Sigourney Weaver Of 'Alien' Comes To See It At North Bergen High

See the video: Yup, that's Sigourney Weaver, a.k.a. Lt. Ellen Ripley, at the New Jersey high school.

Now there are many actors besides Sigourney Weaver who will be forever associated with "Alien:" The students at North Bergen High School.

So it made sense that they'd finally find a way to be together when Weaver came to see an encore stage presentation on Friday of the 1979 classic that's gone viral.

Here is Weaver, who played Lt. Ellen Ripley in the movie, as she totally surprised the students who weren't even alive when this movie was released (indeed, their parents may not have been alive, either):

Eight students at North Bergen High put on a mere two productions of "Alien" March 19 and 22, but then got money from original director Ridley Scott to help put on Friday's encore presentation.

The entire production cost just $3,500 to put on, also. The set design was done using recycled materials and egg crates to make the background look like a spaceship.

There are only eight students in the small cast. Sophomore Xavier Perez plays the alien. Weaver's iconic role of Ripley was given to Gabriella Delacruz, a senior at the school, who said she was thrilled to carry on the strong feminist tradition.

“She’s a female character who’s really portrayed as the hero at the end,” Delacruz told the New York Times. “She isn’t the damsel in distress. She got to be a badass, if I’m allowed to say that.”

Here's a YouTube promo Cuervo made for the show:
