Clifton Woman, 35, Identified As Person Killed By Light Rail
The woman hit and killed by the light rail Monday night in Weehawken has been identified by NJ Transit as Saskia Guerrero, 35, of Clifton.
CLIFTON, NJ — The woman hit and killed by the light rail Monday night in Weehawken has been identified by NJ Transit as Saskia Guerrero, 35, of Clifton.
The fatal accident happened at approximately 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 when a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train bound for Hoboken struck Guerrero. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was struck near Port Imperial Boulevard in Weehawken, said NJ Transit. There is a light rail station on Port Imperial Blvd.; it's unclear if Guerrero was getting on or off the train when she was struck.

"We are devastated to share that Saskia passed away on Monday, August 19," her family wrote on this GoFundMe they set up to help pay for funeral expenses. "She was an amazing daughter, sister and friend loved by all. Saskia was always positive and always put her family first. Please consider helping out her loved ones through this difficult time as they navigate this tragedy and move forward in life without her."
Her exact cause of death will be determined by the Hudson County Medical Examiner.
