DPW Truck Accidentally Rolls Into Secaucus Town Pool
The driver forgot to put the brake on and a DPW van accidentally rolled into the Secaucus town pool Wednesday.

SECAUCUS, NJ — In a photo that will make you laugh — or gasp — a DPW van accidentally rolled into the Secaucus town pool Wednesday, confirmed Secaucus Mayor Mike Gonnelli.
"It's a longtime guy who does a lot of work for the town and he was at the pool fixing things and he forgot to put the brake on the truck," said the town mayor.
The van rolled into the adult swimming pool. Nobody was injured in the mishap; the van and the pool were empty at the time.

The pool did however, have to be completely drained Wednesday.
"That's why we have insurance," said the mayor. "Sh** happens."

The mayor would like to emphasis that the Secaucus town pool opens May 29 for the season and, for the second year in a row, will be completely free, for Secaucus residents only. The Secaucus pool facility is a five-pool complex, including an adults-only pool, a large kiddie pool, a pirate ship and splash playground, a deep diving pool and diving boards, a massive water slide for older kids and a full-sized Olympic pool. Very few towns in New Jersey — if any — make their town pools free for residents.
