Hudson County Restaurant Named One Of Nation's Top 50 Date Spots
It's the only restaurant in New Jersey to make OpenTable's list of the '50 Best Restaurants for a Date.' You might be able to guess where...
WEEHAWKEN, NJ — OpenTable, the restaurant reservation website, recently released a list of their "50 Best Restaurants for a Date" in America for 2019.
The Chart House in Weekhawken was the only New Jersey restaurant to make their cut of the top 50. Interestingly, no Manhattan restaurant made the list but Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse in Philadelphia did, as did Talula's Garden off Washington Square in Philadelphia. Blend on the Water, a Latin/Spanish restaurant in Long Island City did, similarly praised for its waterfront views of New York City.

The list was based on an analysis of 12 million reviews of more than 30,000 restaurants across the country — all submitted by verified OpenTable users between Sept. 1, 2018 and Aug. 31, 2019. Restaurants were then scored and further sorted based on search terms such as “GoodForDates” and “Good for a Date.”
The Chart House was ranked as the most booked restaurant in New Jersey for a date. Viewers gave it high points for a waterfront location and having a scenic view, along with it being an ideal date spot. The Chart House serves seafood.

The restaurant reservation website put together the list in partnership with Hinge, a dating app that found through an OpenTable-commissioned survey that 86 percent of respondents find it stressful to pick a perfect date spot.
“Given the added stress daters face when looking for the right restaurant, we wanted to create a go-to list that offers a restaurant for any date — whether it’s your first or one-thousandth,” said Anne Besse, director of marketing at OpenTable.
