Join The Newly Formed Secaucus Gardening Club

The Secaucus Gardening Club was just recently formed. This is a brand-new club and looking for members.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Many know that back in the day Secaucus used to be home to a large number of farms, and also grew many of the flowers that supplied New York City's flower district.

To this day, the nutrient-rich soil of Secaucus proves to be fertile ground for growing vegetables, trees and beautiful flowers — some of them even downright tropical looking!

To that end, the Secaucus Gardening Club was just recently formed. This is a brand-new club and looking for members; they just held their first meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 20 of this week.

Their meetings will continue on the fourth Tuesday of every month, starting in September. They meet in the story tower at the library. Open to ages 10 years old through 100. Children under the age of 13 should be accompanied by an adult. Please RSVP to club organizers Barbara Hennig - secsparks@aol.com or Mary Ann Mastro -MaryAnnSecaucusGardenClub@gmail.com if you are interested or want to learn more.

Club organizers say: "The goal of this garden club is to unite all gardeners through discussion topics, conversations, demonstrations and shared experiences. Whether you are a seasoned gardener, a beginner, a house plant enthusiast, or have never gardened but want to learn, this club is for one and all. Gardening is educational, therapeutic, great exercise, and provides such a huge feeling of accomplishment!"
