New Apartment Complex Opens By Secaucus Walmart

What's that building under construction by the Secaucus Walmart? That would be the Harper, the town's newest apt. complex owned by Hartz.

SECAUCUS, NJ — What's that new building under construction by the Secaucus Walmart? That would be the Harper at Harmon Meadow, Secaucus' newest apartment rental complex. It's actually a three-building complex and they are now open for prospective tenants, with the first move-ins expected this winter.

It's owned by well-known Secaucus developer, Hartz Mountain Industries (which also owns Harmon Cove). The Harper is being billed as a "commuter-friendly, luxury rental community." It's near the aforementioned Walmart, as well as the L.A. Fitness gym, Buffalo Wild Wings, Red Robin and office buildings. The rental price range is not immediately known.

The Harper includes 469 studios, 1-bedrooms and 2-bedroom apartments in what is actually a three-building complex. Hartz Mountain opened a temporary leasing office directly across from the complex for prospective renters. Initial occupancy for the first building is expected for early February.

All apartments have in-home washers and dryers, and kitchens with granite countertops, center islands, and stainless-steel Energy Star® appliances. Some units even have New York City views. There will also be a salt-water swimming pool with cabanas, outdoor grills and an on-site yoga studio and spin room that will offer virtual fitness classes. The developers say they are opening a trailside athletic course in the nearby protected wetlands. Each of the three buildings will have its own resident lounge and dedicated fitness center. There will be a party room, business conference center, cyber café, open-air playground, children’s play room, indoor theatre, on-site dog park and Wi-Fi throughout. "While The Harper at Harmon Meadows’ Secaucus location offers a more tranquil setting than its more densely-developed urban neighbors like Hoboken and Jersey City, the community still provides considerable commuter convenience. The property offers a NJ Transit bus stop right at your doorstep with several buses including the 320 whisking riders to Port Authority in Manhattan. Complimentary shuttle service to the Secaucus Junction train station with service to Manhattan and throughout New Jersey will be available, while an onsite NJ Transit ticket vending machine will add another level of convenience. The Lincoln Tunnel is just three miles away and The New Jersey Turnpike North and South, Route 3 East and West, and Route 1&9 North and South, are immediately accessible from Harmon Meadow."

“This is one of the most unique locations in the region as it is nestled next to a picturesque nature reserve, yet also offers unparalleled access to a multitude of shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and public transportation,” said Gus Milano, President and COO of Hartz Mountain Industries. “We’re delighted to now introduce a modern residential offering to the mix which will place residents in the heart of a dynamic destination that comprises all of the elements desired for a vibrant and convenient lifestyle experience.”
