New Jersey Blood Services seeks large spaces to host blood drives
Due to social distancing & FDA/CDC guidelines, NJBS is looking for sites host community blood drives in July & August!

New Jersey Blood Services is looking for large spaces to utilize for community blood drives. The space would need to be at least 1100 square feet with multiple electric outlets & air conditioning. We know there are passionate blood donors in your community who are looking for opportunities to donate blood. With stricter guidelines and social distancing for donor and staff safety, we need these larger spaces to host community mobile drives this summer.
Ideally, the space would be made available for approximately 10 hours which is inclusive of a 2 hour load in to set-up, 6 hours of blood donations, and, concluding with 2 hours for cleanup/load-out. It would be on a single day and will need to be accessible to the general public. With hundreds of blood drives cancelled from March through the end of the summer, we have donors with nowhere to donate if they are not convenient to one of our donor centers.
We will be operating on an appointment-only basis in order to stay within FDA and CDC guidelines. We will also ask that each donor who presents to donate at their scheduled appointment time with a face covering. Their temperature will be taken prior to entry into the donor space.

We will also alter our normal set-up for blood drives, spacing donor beds, medical history booths and waiting areas to allow for social distancing.
If you know of a space that would be available to host a blood drive, please reach out to Shauna Lynch at SLynch@nybc.org or 732.616.8736. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
