One Accident And A Disabled Tractor Trailer In Secaucus So Far

The crash occurred on the Rt. 3 East Service Road Monday morning and it involved three cars. There were no reported injuries.

SECAUCUS, NJ — As of 11 a.m. in Secaucus, there has been one motor vehicle crash and one disabled tractor trailer due to the snowstorm, reported Secaucus Police.

And a tractor trailer became disabled on Secaucus Road at the County Avenue intersection. The tractor trailer was already restarted and on its way when police got there. No further police assistance was needed.

There are no power outages in Secaucus so far. However, conditions and roads are expected to get much worse — if that's even possible — throughout the afternoon as a possible two more feet of snow could hit New York City and North Jersey. Gov. Murphy said early Monday afternoon will be the “teeth” of the storm and the state Department of Transportation has 3,900 pieces of equipment deployed to deal with the storm. Murphy also said the storm will likely last until Tuesday night.

“This is a big one,” Gov. Murphy said during his Monday news conference, telling New Jersey residents, “If you don’t need to be out, don’t go out.”

Keep phones and computers charged as there may be power outages. Recycling pick-up is canceled for Tuesday; trash pick-up will still be happening.

New Jersey is under a State of Emergency, which means travel should be limited and residents are urged to stay home. Avoid travel on roadways unless necessary.
