Passenger Falls Out Of NJ Transit Train At Secaucus Station
The doors of an NJ Transit train accidentally opened up on the wrong side Monday night in Secaucus, and a passenger fell onto the tracks.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Perhaps this is a good reminder of the old advice: Don't lean against train doors. The doors of an NJ Transit train accidentally opened up on the wrong side Monday night at the Secaucus train station, and a passenger fell out of the train onto the tracks.
This happened at 5:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at the Frank R. Lautenberg train station at Secaucus Junction. Secaucus is the first stop in New Jersey and that is a major hub and connection point for hundreds of trains going in and out of New York City.
The train pulled into the station and the conductor accidentally opened the doors on the wrong side — not the platform. One person leaning against the doors fell out onto the tracks, but he was not seriously hurt, said another rider who witnessed the whole thing.

"HOLY (expletive) I’m on NJCL 3515 in SEC and they opened the doors on the wrong side of the train. Someone fell onto the tracks. Thank god he wasn’t hurt. Old neck breaker, of course," tweeted a fellow passenger Monday night.
This appears to have been caused by human error, said an NJ Transit spokeswoman, and NJ Transit is investigating. Oddly, the same thing happened on an NJ Transit train that pulled into Penn Station at 4 p.m. Monday as well; the doors opened on the wrong side, according to PIX 11.
