SECAUCUS, NJ — Check out these adorable photos of local kids fishing at Laurel Hill Park last Saturday, Sept. 21 as part of Hackensack Riverkeeper's "Pirates of the Hackensack" fishing event.
This was a fishing tournament organized by Hackensack Riverkeeper and Captain Bill Sheehan, who lives right here in Secaucus. Now in its fourth year running, area kids are encouraged to dress like pirates and come out to Laurel Hill park for a fishing extravaganza. It is free to enter, and poles and bait, plus fishing volunteer help, is provided by the Hudson River Fisherman's Association.
Kids came from Secaucus, Bayonne, Garfield, Rutherford and other nearby towns.

"Shiver me timbers! This past Saturday, pirates 'walked the plank' at Laurel Hill Park for the 4th year in a row, catching fish and taking home some serious booty," said the local Riverkeeper.
