Secaucus DPW Employee Charged With Sex Assault Of Minor

SECAUCUS, NJ — A man employed with the Secaucus Department of Public Works was arrested Friday morning and charged with multiple sex crimes against a juvenile female victim.
Victor Rodriguez, 46, who lives in Secaucus, was taken into custody at 10 a.m. Friday by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit, and the Secaucus Police Department.
The alleged crimes occurred on multiple dates approximately six to seven years ago, said the county prosecutor, Esther Saurez. The victim was known to Rodriguez and he also knew her family, said the county prosecutor. The victim was between the ages of 12 and 13 years old when the crimes allegedly occurred.

The Hudson County prosecutor's office SVU team was first made aware of the allegations Tuesday of this week and Rodriguez was arrested Friday.
He was taken into custody at the county prosecutor's office in Jersey City without incident Friday morning.

Rodriguez has been charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault by contact, a second- degree crime; endangering the welfare of a child, a third-degree crime; and criminal sexual contact, a fourth-degree crime.
Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Secaucus Police Department with the investigation and arrest.
Rodriguez is currently in the Hudson County jail in Kearny.
