SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police and unedited by Patch, all of last week's arrests:

On March 22 at 2:34 p.m., the police arrested a 50-year-old female, Ayisa Vargas of Secaucus, NJ at Secaucus police headquarters for Falsification in a Firearms Application [2C:39-10C]. Vargas was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On March 23 at 4:09 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 36-year-old male, Michael Roman of Brandon, FL for one outstanding warrant issued out of Paterson, NJ in the amount of $1,000. Roman was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from police custody.

On March 24 at 6:05 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 35-year-old female, Jamilah Thompson of Jersey City, NJ for one outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $100. Thompson was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued one motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody.

On March 23 at 12:28 a.m., Secaucus Police attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on NJ State Highway Rt. 3 East. The vehicle failed to stop for police while the police were exhibiting their lights and sirens. An investigation was conducted by the Secaucus Police Patrol Division and on March 25 at 11:55 a.m., the police arrested a 29-year-old male, Fair Ahmed of Brooklyn, NY for Eluding [2C:29-2B] after Ahmed turned himself in at Secaucus police headquarters. Ahmed was issued his complaint warrant along with nine motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On March 25 at 5:40 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 31-year-old male, David Hardaway of Jersey City, NJ for one outstanding warrant issued out of Elizabeth, NJ in the amount of $500 with a 10% option. Hardaway was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued three motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On March 26 in an effort to combat vice related crimes within the town of Secaucus, the Secaucus Detective Division arrested the following individuals: At 4:53 p.m., the police arrested a 31-year-old female, Elena Velikaia of Brooklyn, NY for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)]. Velikaia was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. At 6:48 p.m., the police arrested a 27-year-old female, Nelly Monge of Paterson, NJ for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)]. Monge was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. At 8:06 PM, the police arrested a 25 year old female, Rosa Escalera of San Juan, Puerto Rico for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)]. Ms. Escalera was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody. At 8:24 p.m., the police arrested a 29-year-old male, Jonathan Polanco-Cruz of Woodland Park, NJ for Promoting Prostitution [2C:34-1B(2)]. Polanco-Cruz was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody. At 9:06 p.m., the police arrested a 25-year-old female, Decole Maxwell of Portland, OR for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)]. Maxwell was served her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On March 27 at 4:46 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 27-year-old male, Khalil Caldwell of East Orange, NJ for one outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Essex County Superior Court with no bail. Caldwell was served three motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Essex County Jail.

On March 28 at 5:55 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 37-year-old female, Lakeshia Lewis of Newark, NJ for one outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $550. Lewis was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued three motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
