Saturday, March 23:

1. Make a craft at the Secaucus Michael's

2. Makers Day at the Secaucus Library!

10 a.m. - noon at Secaucus Public Library Build-o-Mania with Curiosity Lab

Celebrate NJ Makers Day at this special drop-in and create workshop. Designers, builders, makers and artists ages 6 and older are invited to make their own toy race car or work on a free-build construction project. 3. Meet the authors of The Amazing Adventures of Aya & Pete in Jersey City

All are invited for a fun morning exploring The Amazing Adventures of Aya & Pete. Meet authors Serena Minott and Asha Gore, as they share the real-life story behind their new children's travel book series, The Amazing Adventures of Aya & Pete, and selected readings.
Saturday, March 23 at the Jersey City Public Library, Bonetti Children's Room
Sunday, March 24 at WORD Bookstore in downtown Jersey City

4. Kids' Fest at Rutgers University.

Starts at 11 a.m. and runs all day. Free

Magic 98.3 presents a fun-filled day of live entertainment, games, contests, giveaways, a climbing wall, bounce houses, and more, held at Rutgers University.

5. Kids' Literary Day in Montclair. Running all day Saturday, March 23 with events at the Montclair Public Library, The Storytime Room (3rd floor), The Green Space and the Montclair Art Museum. Drumming circles and drama play for kids, reading and drawing lessons for kids 0-3 and a drawing lesson for older kids. 6. Celebrate Holi in Jersey City (the Secaucus Holi celebration is April 27)

The Five Corners Branch Library, Jersey City. Celebrate Holi, the festival of colors, with traditional Bollywood dancing, music and other activities. 1-3 p.m.

7. The Cat in the Hat at SOPAC (South Orange Performing Arts Center)

8. Spring campfire at Tenafly Nature Center: Two time slots: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm & 7:30 - 8:30 pm

Gather ‘round the campfire to explore how lengthening days and warmers temperatures affect plants and animals. Listen to stories and roast marshmallows for s'mores. Program is intended for adults and families with children 5 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held under cover. Sunday, March 24:

1. The last maple sugaring demo of the season at Tenafly Nature Center

12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Learn how to identify a maple tree. Discover the history of syrup making and how technology has changed the way we gather sap over the centuries. The group will check Tenafly Nature Center's tapped tree and boil down sap to make fresh, warm maple syrup, a sweet treat for all to taste. All ages are welcome.
