Saturday, Feb. 23:

1. Ages 3+ Kids' Club: Making Fingerprint Bugs at Michael's craft store in Edgewater 10 a.m. to noon Saturday morning Good for: Preschoolers/no registration needed. $2 per project, ages 3+, supplies included. 2. MAKEbreak Crunchy Spring Slime at Michael's craft store in Secaucus 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon Open to all ages, from pre-schoolers to teens.

2. Learn all about trains at the old train terminal in Liberty State Park, Jersey City. All Aboard! As part of Blue Comet Day at Liberty State Park, the park presents a children’s program that will include a discussion about trains, and a craft to make and take home. The program will take place inside the CRRNJ Terminal and is appropriate for ages 5 to 10 years old. Pre-registration is required. 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Free. 3. "Cinderella or the Story of Bigfoot," presented at the Studio Playhouse in Upper Montclair. Show is Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23/24 and March 2/3. Showtimes at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. In this retelling of the classic Cinderella story, Ella Le Grand not only has to contend with her evil stepmother, but she also has to deal with her feet. They aren’t dainty princess feet; they’re huge! 4. Free kids' movie at North Bergen Public Library: "The House with a Clock in Its Walls"

5. Free kids' expo at the Westfield YMCA: Inflatables, sports class stations, dance academy, camp open house, carnival games and arts & crafts. 1-4 p.m. at the Westfield Area YMCA 220 Clark Street, Westfield, NJ

6. Both days: Kids' week at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City $24-33 (included with admission) The Intrepid has workshops and hands-on demos tailored just for kids this week and weekend only. Puppetry, face painting, experiments, model rocket building and more.

Sunday, Feb. 24:

1. Storytime at the Hoboken Fire Department Museum. Offered every Sunday from 1:30-2 p.m. through May 12. Good for preschoolers. We invite children between the ages of 2 and 5 years to join us downtown every Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Special guest readers from the Hoboken Public Library join us on the first Sunday of each month. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No reservation required, but it is recommended to arrive early to secure a good spot. 213 Bloomfield St. in Hoboken.

2. Maple Sugaring at the Tenafly Nature Center: Every Sunday through March 24 Two demos: 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Learn how to identify a maple tree. Discover the history of syrup making and how technology has changed the way sap has been gathered over the centuries. We’ll check Tenafly Nature Center’s tapped tree and observe how sap is boiled down to make fresh maple syrup, a sweet treat for all to taste!
