SECAUCUS, NJ — The Christmas spirit is alive and well in Secaucus! As of Monday morning, Dec. 24, the town of Secaucus is in the process of donating more than 3,400 boxes of Legos to children and families in need, and to children with special needs.
The town of Secaucus also donated some of the Lego boxes to North Bergen, Union City and Weehawken, Mayor Mike Gonnelli said.
In total, 3,420 boxes of Legos were dropped off in Secaucus on Wednesday of this week. The Legos were donated by Delivering Good, a non-profit that works with brands and retailers to provide new clothing, shoes and supplies to women, children and individuals in need.

"We gave three pallets to North Bergen, three to Union City and three pallets of Legos to Weehawken," said Mayor Gonnelli. "The Legos are disappearing fast. If anyone knows a family that would like a box, they should just call me."
The Legos comes in two sizes: A box for ages 9-11 that is valued at $70, and a more sophisticated box for 11-teenagers that is valued at $170.

Not only that, but members of the Secaucus Recreation Football program also pooled money together to purchase the toys below for three children in town. Sean Pena, the director of the Secaucus Rec football program, said he was able to buy all these gifts because of donations from parents, cheerleaders, players and team moms Jenna Trombetta, Worthington Pia and Anne Marie Wust Linder. He also thanked Mayor Mike Gonnelli and Councilman Rob Costantino for their support.
