Patch asked Adult School staff what’s new or tried-and-true.
"Our Eva Samo Lecture Series is always very popular,” says the Adult School’s Alexa Metrick. “This spring, the lectures revolve around the question of class structure in America. The first lecture, by Dr. Joyce Crowley, will be held on April 11th; the second on April 25th with Dr. Frank Argote-Freyre; the third on May 2nd with David Brancaccio; and the fourth with Dr. Michael Fabricant on May 9th.”

Still eager to learn? College For a Day takes place on April 2, when four different lectures on four different topics, from How to Read the Qu'ran to The Biophysics of Hemoglobin, offer a day of lectures and discussions. A buffett lunch is included.
Culinary offerings are enticing, as well: Chef Jesse Jones will be teaching two new classes, New Orleans Style and Spring into the Caribbean, and Diane Letulle will be introducing students to wines from Austria and Hungary in her Wines to Waltz With course. “We also have a wide variety of fitness classes, from Zumba to Water Aerobics,” notes Metrick.

The Adult School is offering a number of new courses this spring, as well. Two new art appreciation classes, Leonardo and Michelangelo: Giants of the Renaissance and Mary Cassatt and Georgia O'Keefe: Iconic American Painters, are taught by art historian Loughran O'Connor.
Pair Daniel Epstein's European cheese tasting course, Cheese at My Table, with the Wines to Waltz With wine-tasting class and it’s a recipe for a great party.
For kids who are interested in the kitchen, the Adult School offers Cupcakes and Kids for adults and children.
The Adult School has a great deal to offer – as well as being a great deal – and classes start in spring.
