Adult School Shows Its Stuff on Saturday
The Adult School holds a Saturday Book Fair at Barnes & Noble in Livingston
Not only is it a busy weekend in town, the Adult School is taking the action on the road. From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. the Adult School is holding a Book Fair at the Livingston Mall Barnes & Noble. The Fair is an opportunity to see what's on the syllabus at the Adult School while supporting it: a portion of all Barnes and Noble purchases will be donated to the Adult School.
The schedule of events follows:
11 a.m. "The Basics of Blood and Guts." Jerry Citron teaches this popular Anatomy for Kids class at the Adult School's summer program for children.
11:30 a.m. Write a Story with Judith Lindbergh. Come join a work in progress as we add sentences to an evolving story edited by Lindbergh, whose Adult School class, The Writers Circle, begins Sept. 23. Active Mind Course 0019.
11:30 a.m. Sing-a-Long for Kids and Other People led by Marilyn Lehren of the Adult School staff.

12:00 p.m. Dr. Seuss Favorites read by actor Emily Zacharias, director of the Adult School's Celebrity Readings.

12:30 p.m. Sculpture Demo. Lucie Maragni, a new Adult School teacher, will show how to great art in 3-D. Her 10-week class begins Oct. 5. Fine Arts Course: 0053.
1:00 p.m. Jazz Appreciation with Sanford Josephson, author of Jazz Notes: Interviews Across the Generations. Josephson will sign copies of his book. On Nov. 15, he will lead an Adult School class on jazz great Gerry Mulligan. Active Mind Course 0016.
1:30 p.m. Up Close and Personal with the affable and personable Chef Jesse Jones. Enjoy a tasting of his fabulous Heart and Soul cuisine. Chef Jesse is teaching two Adult School cooking classes this fall: Southern BBQ (Culinary Arts Course 0073) on Oct. 14 and Let's Talk Turkey on Nov. 11 (Course 0074). Come hungry, you'll be able to taste what everyone is talking about.
2:00 p.m. Puppetmaking Workshop. Join our popular summer camp teacher Kathi Hecht in this hands-on puppet activity. Great for kids.
2:30 p.m. Tap Dance with Carol Cornicelli, an actress, singer and dancer who directs and choreographs for theaters in NYC and NJ. She teaches the Adult School's popular tap dance class on Saturdays. It begins on Oct. 2 this fall. Recreation and Fitness/Dance Class 0137.
3:00 p.m. Viva Flamenco! Got passion? Got rhythm? Try something completely different with teacher and performer Toni Messina and guitarist Mike Moroch. Flamenco Dance is offered on Saturdays beginning Oct. 2 at the Adult School. Performing Arts Course 0117-0118.
