Campaign, Community Volunteer Endorses Line A

Ian Miller endorses Line A candidates for Tuesday election

Ian Miller is Treasurer of the Village First 2013 campaign.

My name is Ian Miller and for the past several years I have been chairperson of The University Engagement Committee of the South Orange/SHU Partnership.  I have been privileged  to know most of the candidates and to work closely with Joe Kika, a member of my committee.  His dedication to South Orange is inspirational .  Not only is he active on my Committee, but is a coach for the Special Olympics, helps out with Jespy House as a group and some of their residents individually as well , and is on the governing board of  the Lions.  He loves South Orange and understands our town.  He would make a great Trustee.

Geraldine Mehu,I met about two years ago after her husband Lieutenant Moore and I became friends.  This woman is one of the sharpest financial minds I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.   In my opinion having a trustee on the BOT who has a bright  financial mind that   truly understand the issues,  benefits, and ramifications of the decisions affecting all of us,  who pays  taxes in this town   will serve our community and help keep our taxes as low as possible.  It is an honor to call her a friend and I am sure her contribution to the Board Of Trustees will be invaluable.  Her motivation for the job is to make the town as great as possible especially since  her  young  daughter wants to live here when she grows up.

I have only known Kelly Sullivan for a short time but I have known her brother and nephew through  the Clean Sweep work they have done with  the  cooperation with my committee and Dove from SHU.  In the short time I have known Kelly I can see why she graduated magna cum laude.  Not only is she a kind and caring person, a lifelong resident of South Orange, a business owner  with ethics so esteemed that the Supreme Court of New Jersey has recruited her to sit on the Essex County District Ethics Committee. She is also a brilliant legal mind.  Her involvement in our board of trustees will bring the kind of input and transparency  that only such a person with unapproachable ethics and motivation for only making South Orange the best it can be, not running for higher office, or advancement of her personal career,  can bring to the Board.

It is without reservation that I strongly endorsing the candidates running on Line A Village First!  I know that is what is on their minds… South Orange Village First!
