Celebrating 'Howl-O-Ween'Among the Animals
Turtle Back Zoo event brings thousands of ghouls, goblins, and SHU helpers
Thousands of kids descended upon Turtle Back Zoo Sunday night for Essex County's three-hour "Howl-O-Ween" event.
Admission was $5 for nonmembers and $3 for Zoological Society members.
Dr. Jeremy Goodman, the zoo's director, said more than a ton of candy was purchased for the event. There were numerous candy stations staffed by Seton Hall University students throughout the zoo for kids to trick-or-treat.

Goodman said one of the new initiatives this year was a "green" Halloween where a number of the candy stations offered healthy alternatives to traditional snacks.
