CHS Student in National Roller Skating Competition
Julia Harvey will travel to Nebraska to compete nationally as a freestyle roller skater.

Julia Harvey of Maplewood will be competing in the Roller Skating National Competitions to be held in late July in Lincoln, Nebraska. Julia will be competing in the Freshman A Ladies Freestyle event. She placed 3rd in the regional competition that was held on June 19 in Delanco, NJ, qualifying her to compete nationally. The national elimination event will be held on July 28 and the final will be held on July 29.Â
Julia is 15 and has been skating for 5 years. She is a student at Columbia High School here in Maplewood.
Julia's team, called The All American Skating Team, is raising funds to offset the expenses of traveling across the country. The team skates out of the Florham Park Roller Rink and is having a Family Fun Night there on July 15 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and includes open skating for all, a performance by their 30-member club and performances by their national competitors.
