The concerts started three years ago as a way to draw families back into the downtown on weekend evenings. Since their inception they have been hugely successful, bringing the downtown alive with families socializing, eating at local restaurants and listening to an eclectic mix of local musicians.
"We have such an abundance of local musical talent and we are thrilled to have them as part of our series," said Lisa Hackett, SOVCA Executive Director in a press release. "The majority of the performers are from South Orange and Maplewood."
The concerts are sponsored by the Village of South Orange for the first month.  Additional sponsors are needed for the remainder of the season. To sponsor a night, a weekend or a month of concerts, call the SOVCA office at 973-763-6899.Â
