Editor's Notebook: The Avenue Envy

A sneak peek inside a unit at The Avenue

If I lived at The Avenue, I could say farewell to shoveling. I could give away my collection of rakes and leaf blowers. Cleaning the gutters would be history.  So far, so good.  But what it is like in there, I wondered.

I jumped at yesterday's chance to wander around one of the units, to lounge on the couch, as if it were my own.

The second-floor unit I visited was lavishly decorated, but I was studying its bare bones. Yes, the bathrooms are spacious and there is closet space to kill for. In fact, as I wandered the floorplan, it was the walk-in closet, with built-in drawers galore, that drew the most attention from other visitors. We all need more space, or more creative organization of our belongings, it seems.

The kitchen uses space well; it's a separate room, but it's connected to the dining and living area. The whole place sees sunlight, and there is a windowed alcove leading to the terrace that I especially coveted.

And then I saw the fitness room, just steps from the unit and the elevator. I could go to the gym without leaving home. Wow.

When you can't find me at home, I'll be at The Avenue.
